A celebration of the publication of “Emeralds Never Fade,” the new novel by Stephen Maitland-Lewis was hosted by Glyd-Evans Press and The Actors Fund on Wednesday, November 30 at Nonna of Italy at 9255 Sunset Blvd. (at Doheny) in L.A.’s West Hollywood area. Luminaries and stars came out to celebrate the evening for an exciting new novel that Highlight Hollywood will be reviewing next week. The night of the reception and book signing began at 6 p.m. and we enjoyed each other’s company until after 8 p.m.
Author Stephan Maitland-Lewis; Director of the West Coast Region of The Actors Fund Keith McNutt; Norm Crosby; MGM legend Mitzi Gaynor; “The Young and the Restless” actress and philanthropist, beautiful Kate Linder; Budd Friedman; Joni Berry; Mike Burstyn; Jane Wooster Scott; the legendary Paramount Studios icon A.C. Lyles; Roger Lefkon; George Schlatter, from “Laughin” fame” and many others were on hand. It definitely was a classy night and PR executive Richard Hoffman was also buzzing around the room.
The (Glyd-Evans Press) publication “Emeralds Never Fade” was published on November 30, 2011 and is a very unique and riveting novel by Stephen Maitland-Lewis. Spanning four decades and beginning before World War II, the book chronicles in exciting detail the lives of two German boys, one who visits twice each week to teach the other piano.
Suddenly when the Nazis seize power, the lessons must come to an end — and one of the boys is Jewish. Forty years later a meeting which centers on a lost family heirloom, will decide their fate.
